Also in zumo fw there's reference 'NMaps' which isn't in nuvi 500 [search in hex for 4E * 4D * 61 * 70 * 73 * [where * is wildcard], or plain text search N.M.a.p.s.]. Get him to print and fax you a copy of his GarminDevice.xml if he can't use email [haha]. If you think he can handle it get him to open it and search for <Name>NMaps</Name><File><Specification><Identifier>IMG</Identifier></Specification><Location><Path>Map</Path>, or even just 'NMaps'. It's not in the 500's xml of course but should be in 220's.
