I wonder is this normal to have write speed of less than 1MB/s to either internal memory or microsd when connected trough device USB cable.
When i use my sdcard with reader i get around 3MB/s writing speed

Older gps models use USB 1 which is really slooow. Could be your problem.

Guess they thought as you only load maps once should not be a issue...
Is 62 series old?

No, 62 series probably use USB 2.

All Garmin unit have limit for a USB transfer rate based on electronic component of the device. Partly it is given in SW. Oldies remember SW for Nuvi 3790 with transfer rate to SD on 50Kb/s!!! Originally Posted by 555
