Oh I see @Neil
I missed the fact that the 1300 had a slit in the bezel where the mike "should" (could?) be. Mistakenly thought that was a tell-tale sign there was a mic onboard :-/
Is it hard to open the casing and check out the insides? Any tips (even by PM) would be appreciated. (Have found nothing yet from attempts to see pcb pictures etc.)
Yes, I know OT - so please transfer this to new thread 13xx BT when you get a chance thx Neil.
@Lolypop000 and @Giomen - the profile for you guys says "Navigation Software Expert" so I am hoping to hear your further thoughts on the "BING" suggestion for JCV and over SPEED LIMIT.
I do hope that one of you gurus can come up with a solution for an Audible Alert.
Thx
PG
On researching the internet I have come across a number of version of Nuvi 1300 that DID have Bluetooth built in - India Model and UAE model. In other countries it was the 1310 that had Bluetooth. There is also some information that there IS a mic (behind the bezel slit) in the 1300 but NO BT chip. It was my suspicion that the PCB would be the same on all 1300 models and that there could be an empty socket to insert a BT chip on 1310s 1340s 1350s and 1390s. If so I was hoping to get some info on the chip and source one to fit to my 1300. This is a feature in would like to enable if possible - so could be on topic, but in case it is OT and I was waiting to post more on this when Neil opens a new thread for me (as I am new her and not sure how to open a new topic or even if I am allowed with so few posts up).
As for the "audible alerts" since the EU models have it for OVER Speed Limit I though that might not be too difficult for a NSE guru - and as Cyclops Safetty Camera POIs have an "audible alert" on 1300 and all other 13xx, I though there may be a way to trick the system into thinking the JCV lat/long are POI.
Still wondering
