did you have issue to update nuvi 2545 with western europe map 2013 for not enough free space?

@rosanna, I phoned a friend.

Clean formatted fat32 SD Card must be available but not inserted in the device.
Device must be in MTP mode. (if applicable)

Notes from Garmin Document.

26. If your device does not have sufficient space you will be presented with one of the following options, depending on
your device and how much space is available:
• An option to remove Pictures and/or Music from your device: The application allows you to remove any pictures
or music from your device in order to make more room for mapping. You may follow the on-screen prompts to
complete this process, go to step 27.
• An option to insert an SD card into your device: Insert a microSD/SD card into your device to allow the
application to load the complete map set to your device and/or microSD/SD card, go to Step 27.
• An option to choose a region: Choose the region that gives you the best coverage for your area. The coverage
for the selected map region is displayed. Go to step 28.
NOTE: If the desired coverage region will not fit on your device and you want to install mapping to your computer
for later use with BaseCamp™ or MapInstall you should choose to install mapping to the device and computer.

i did not know about

in short i have to wait the ask to insert the sd
i have always my sd inserted maybe this could be the issue

Nice to know, same here, btw I prefere to use pendrive instead of real Nuvi, too many bricked Nuvi we heard about on forum updating maps.

sorry for my question ..
the sd should be clean so i can NOT store on the sd poi like cyclops or other pois and oxford translator , right?

You can keep on your SD POI, Oxford Translator and whatever else do you want, but your SD free space must be big enough to store the whole map including ASR, JCV and so on. If you have a 32GB sd card you can store even films and map at the same time. You need about 6GB free space on your SD card to store City Navigator with all additional files.

i thought 4gb sd was enough

I doubt. Some time ago I tried to update map to CNE 2013.30 on 4GB SD card and failed because of not enough free space.
But this will happen in case you will use GarminMapUpdater. If you just copy necessary files from PC to SD it might be enough 4GB.

hi

i got in my hands a different garmin model (more cheap )with last europe map update , and the updater moved some files to the sd
woud be nice a script (a bat) file to move these files to sd to force map updater to use the sd
sadly i did not print or save the folders structure

maybe someone can do this bat file
