Default Google maps route to Zumo 660

    Hi everyone, a quick question...

I have made a route in Google maps, converted the KML to a GPX file and now I can see my route in Mapsource and can transfer it to my Zumo.

The route itself is complicated and goes 'off road' for a few sections.
When I download it to my Zumo, the Zumo wants to recalculate the route because of the 'off road' sections and it completely rechanges my route cutting out the 'off road' sections and messing my route up.

Is there any way that I can make my Zumo accept the route and just draw straight lines on the 'off road' sections?

    Many thanks,
    Matt

    I don't think so.
Routes have to be re-calculated during import on the Map that is currently Active.

You could possibly split the route into sections "road sections" and "off road sections".

Then You would end up with a number of routes that you would have to select as you go along.

Waypoints can be used to force the nuvi to calculate the route the way you want it.

However if there is no road then it's a problem.

    Oh well...

    Another question then...

Is it possible to make the route, draw tracks for the off road section, covert the tracks to a route and then upload that to my Zumo?
As I write this, Im thinking no???

I have made waypoints and tried forcing it to go to the waypoints but because Im going to be off road at some of the sections the Zumo isnt accepting the route.

That's why you have to split the route !
I use the same technique When I'm swapping between Mapsets on different African Countries.
Set a route to the border using one mapset with waypoints to shape the route.
When I get to the border switch the mapset and choose another route to the Next Destination point. etc etc
Its a pain but can be done.
You must have road to use shaping Waypoints points.

Is the classic difference between track and route

The Zumo allows you to export tracks but not import them (only models Outdoor allow this)

While the routes are, but being routables, here is the OS of ZUMO seek the possible way to get to the next WP

    Bye,bye
