There are maps loaded on the card from when I was using it in my old Streetpilot III, and using MapSource City Navigator. But I now would like to use the card in my even older eMap that isn't recognized by MapSource City Navigator. The eMap used MetroGuide North America to load maps onto it, but I don't know if that software will be able to recognize the data card with maps loaded from MapSource City Navigator.

Like the person who posted that thread, I too have an older data card, not an SD memory card. Seems he may have been able to get maps off his card with sendmap. But I don't know if sendmap would load maps onto the old data card.

I can't get many maps on the Emap's tiny internal memory. I need to figure out if there's a way to make my 64MB data key (the old type, not the new SD type) unlocked so I can use it in my eMap as I wrote above.
I do not think that it is the card that is locked but rather the old map on the card.
Why do you not just download a new map to Mapsource and then transfer the part of your interest to the card? The old map will be overwritten but does that matter?
Since the card is so small you still will have to transfer the small part needed every time you make a longer trip somewhere :Animated 89:

Okay... I was able to transfer a couple map segments to the data card with Mapsource. And when I put the card in the eMap and started it, I didn't get the error message about the card being locked as I had before. But the 'Mapsource' menus on the eMap are still grayed out and not highlighted. So the GPS isn't seeing the data on the card. When I zoom into the area of the map where I'd put data onto the card, there's no detail.

My other problem is that Mapsource doesn't see the eMap connected to the serial port. MS Streets & Trips does. But Mapsource only recognizes the data card reader I successfully got working with the eMap's old USB drivers. But if I could get the eMap to recognize the maps I can put on the data card, that wouldn't be a problem.
