3D building zoom level is up to firmware. Example - Thai firmware will shows up to 80m. - SgMy firmware will shows up to 300m by the same map.

I've got a Nuvi 3790, with CityXplorer and 3D maps installed and working.
But in Pedestrian mode, the street detail (buildings, landmarks) only appear when zoomed almost completely in to the highest zoom levels. This feature would be a heck of a lot more useful to me if this could be hacked so that this detail would also appear for ONE (just one) more zoom-out level.
Is there a known way to fix this?
Note that the unit is capable of showing the detail at one more zoom-out level -- the buildings/3D do briefly appear at the zoomed-out level, and then disappear after about a second or so. I'd like them to just stay visible there. This would help navigation a lot, giving more context to one's position, rather than just seeing a single city block or so at a time.
Thanks all!

Yeah. I figure there's probably a firmware "register" (variable) somewhere that determines how much detail to show at a given zoom level, and there's probably a way to modify that specific byte or whatever. This could be a global thing, or map-specific. Dunno.
Just trying to find if anyone has managed to discover it yet.
Note that I don't actually care (much) about 3D mode --> I always use the 2D birds-eye-view map display. But I want to see the street level details (buildings) in Pedestrian mode at more usable zoom levels.
I suppose Garmin deliberately cuts back on the detail so their puny CPUs can keep up as a car moves around, but I'm more concerned with Pedestrian mode. Slow speeds, more detail please.

We have no choice for original firmware now because only US firmware supports enhanced pedestrian mode.
Asian firmware won't do it.
