Hi, I'd like to have routes on my 1390LMT. This thread is 2 years old, but it fits mostly to what I want to do.
Thanks to catymag's link from above, I studied the russian website, their deluxe firmware offers routes and also a lot of things that I don't need like mp3-player, I could buy their firmware, but it needs to be maintained/serviced and webupdater wouldn't work after that. lolypop000 wrote in another thread: "Saniksanik merge SG firmware with US and webupdater dont work with this firmware."

Another option is flashing my 1390LMT - despite it naturally already has JCV+LA+TTS - with: a) 1460 SG firmware or b) 1360/1460 JPN firmware or c) 1690 EU/US/TW/AU/CA firmwares.
The following quotes are from another thread, I'm new and I need 10 posts to post links, but I mean this one: noeman.org followed by /gsm/garmin-tutorials/190929-enable-features-your-nuvi-12xx-13xx-14xx-jcv-la-tts-12.html

    1. Which one would be the best for me, a/b/c ? (I would rather keep fullscreen JCV than asian splitscreen JCV, if possible.)
    2. When I do this, will I still get my lifetime update from Garmn?

Important for me: I don't want to lose my lifetime map, I like it a lot that webupdater is working and my nuvi is reliable, so I don't want to risk too much and I would prefer not to flash my nuvi if there is another way. In the same thread I mentioned in the last paragraph I found a very interesting quote from lolypop000 21-03-2011, 09:05 PM regarding routes:

Wow, this is interesting! ddabcd277 (moderator) asked lolypop000:

but lolypop000 didn't reply to that question.
I would love to unlock routes by editing something (if it is that easy) with my hex editor after every regular firmware update, so I don't have to flash my nuvi, this seems to be the best way for me. The question is:
    3. Using a hex editor (i.e. hexedit mx), in which file should I search and for what string and by which string should I replace it?
@lolypop000 You seem to be THE expert for this, please help!
If someone else knows something, please write, too!

What is the best way for getting the routes option on my 1390LMT keeping the lifetime updates, what do you recommend? Thanks in advance.
