Garmin Nuvi 3790T Annoying problems

So, immediately after unboxing my 3790T, I plugged it in my computer to update everything. Take note that it still didn't experience stable satellite signal because I haven't had time to take it out yet (I have it only for two days).

First off, every time I turn the device ON it asks me of my locale, language settings, etc. Is it supposed to do that every single time you turn it off and on?

Second, whenever I plug it in the computer it gives me the error prompt of "Scan and Fix (recommended)" and "Continue without scanning". I always do scan and fix but that prompt still occurs the next time I plug the device into the computer. I'm using Win7 x64 and I'm reading the 37xx has problems with this OS. I already updated to the latest firm of the device (4.10) by downloading the GCD file because Webupdater says something about communicating errors with the Garmin website everytime I try to use it. How do I fix this?

Lastly, I used Webupdater also to download the updates to keyboard, text, language, voice files, etc. Everything installs successfully but when I run again the Webupdater program other already-downloaded-and-installed files (except for the voice files) are listed there again and this keeps going over and over. About your locale and language settings and other issues, fix and if you still have this and other problems , try to clear non vol (hard reset), then downgrade it to a previous firmware (3.60) then reupdate it again.

You should have just traffic providers when trying to update ,coz this is a known bug in sw 4.10

What do you mean "you just have just traffic providers when trying to update?"

How is the correct process for updating? Download the GCD file, drag it to Webupdater, let it install in the device, safely remove device (is this still necessary?), disconnect from computer and turn the device on for the software install to take effect?

Also, Philippines is not available as a locale with this unit. Would choosing United States be any problem at all? Is there a right locale to pick in my case?

3790 device.xlm after updating to 4.10 has an error ,so everytime you run webupdater it shows this update to download and install.
If you dont safely remove your gps you will get "Scan and Fix" from Windows

To update use Webupdater or my dashboard from myGarmin page
To downgrade look here

about Philippines locale I'm afraid you should have an asian sw to have it.

Ok. But choosing United States as the Locale wouldn't present any problem at all if I use my device here in the Philippines right?

Also, will downgrading to 3.60 and upgrading back to 4.0 solve the problem about the choosing Locale every time I turn off and turn back on the unit? Is this a common problem as well with the 3790T?

As i remember, you will see that till you will have your first stable satellite signal!

Yeah, read that in Google a few hours ago too. I guess I have to be out of my currrent area now because there are lot of bldgs here. Does satellite signal locking take a long time for the nuvi 3790t? After it locks to a satellite, can I use it in my current location (business district)?
