Hi,

thank's for your advice....again. This is rather long, but there is a question (or two) at the end of this skribbling.

Well, I have now the topo transalpin running on my garmin. What i did was downloading the img file as adviced in the specific thread via jdownloader. I immediately unlocked it with unlocker 2.1. This was probably a mistake, as after transferring it to the sd card the edge showed the good old 'cannot unlock file...'.
Then i let the unlocker 2.0 do its work with the img file (already run over unlocker 2.1), and suddenly it worked. In the meantime i formatted the sd card to fat32 (before just fat), i do not know if this was the reason for the first trial to fail, but i will never find out.
I then hoped to be able to transfer the maps to mapsource, but of course this was not possible (why not? is there a program where i can import maps from my garmin to my PC and use them for making or showing a track?).
Then i installed the transalpin mapsource from the specific thread and used jmk1.5 to unlock the map. This worked, the map was unlocked, but i could not get any details (it looked like a basemap) I then transferred the maps from my garmin to mapsource via the specific button, then all the names of the maps appeared as usual on the left side.

Still, for a detailed map, i have to select one map and there look there for a POI or a town, and suddenly i have the detailed map. When i zoom out to look for the adjacent maps, the details vanish. is there a reason for that, do i have to do something else or different? Maybe my pc is to slow, somehow it seems to work. I am not sure yet.

BTW, in addition to the map on my sd card, can i put one gmapsupp.img on the internal memory of the edge and can i switch then between the maps? Then i guess i will not build one large img file, i do not see the point in doing this.

Cheers and thanks a lot
