nuvi 1240 missing files
hi my appolagies if im not in the right area or section this is my first post
please could some kind person help a friend brought to me the nuvi 1240 which had a few problems i have managed to get 98% fixed on it but im still missing 1 thing.
When i connected to my p.c the web updater didnt reconized the unit my p.c shows it as Garmin nuvi (f
I opened to view files and found it empty so have no idea what who why. But is there anybody out there who has or knows where to locate or aquire the neeeded files to get unit up and running 100%.
I have the nuvi 255 can i use any of these files or copy and adjust any from myn to mayb help

You have to navigate to get to the good.

Found your firmware section and put on firmware you stated in a recent post/theard. Managed to get the web updater to pick up the unit, so managed to download a few files. Have transfered voice and vehicle contects from one to the other as they are generic, but the only thing i seem to be missing is the maps.
I am only looking for UK and Ireland at the moment, nothing fancy just wish to have standard maps so if anyone can help I would be grateful.
