Hi, can anyone tell me how to install i.e. Citymaps Europe NT 2011.40 on a Nüvi 660?
Is there a chance? I got an older map on that machine, unfortunately does Garmin sale (or offer) no more whole Europe covering cards for that Nüvi (I hate this guys).
So does anyone of you has a fix to solve that issue and use these new cards?
Would be great...

You have to navigate to get to the good.

@GSM-Fraggle
I'm assuming you mean City Navigator Europe 2011.40.
If this is the case, the Nuvi 660 WILL NOT recognize the map on SD card.
The 2011.40 map is 2.06GB, the Nuvi 660 CANNOT recognize map files over 2GB.
I had a 670 and tried but did not work.
The 700 series does recognize map sizes over 2GB.
Copy and paste below link, then click on products tab, all the compatible maps will be shown there, the Nuvi 660 is not on list.

Hope this answered your question.
He can send part of the map with mapsource or use img compiled for old devices , he can find them in our CNE thread![]()

I have a 660 and I solved the problem just by not selecting all parts of the map before tranferring the map from Mapsource. It is highly unlikely that one needs all areas at the same time. Should this be the case, use two SD-cards with overlapping maps and switch cards when the need arises.
I am not sure what would happen if you put two different parts with one part in internal memory and the other part in the SD-card. Transferring large maps to internal memory takes so looong time, usb1 unforunately.
