iGO my way

HI Boki. first of all thanks for help. i tried to install igo8 my way in a p20 light android 9 pie but it doesn't install apk. i also tried to change languages to english but nothing. I get apk not installed. It is true that I put the folder in internal memory, but I don't think this affects the apk installation. I also saw that both data and branding are in .gro format not in traditional .zip formats. What type are gros? Sorry for the ignorance and thank you again for taking the time.

Hi Golom. Simple. iGO8 was my first navigator on a wince in 2008. Now I still keep it on an x gody along with primo and nextgen. On android I had never seen it run. It's just a whim. I am quite familiar with NNG software. Anyway thanks for your interest.

"gro" files are part of one brief experiment by the NNG. They tried to create a very simple version of the WinCE software which they then called "Amigo". Of course, they also created a version for Android.
gro is "translated" into a zip file (and vice versa) by a simple algorithm (data, branding, lang/voice), therefore the supplied converter is used.

iGO 8 will not work on newer devices simply because there are no high and non-standard resolution files (data.zip)
