    @davee3,

    Try this online link:

    With MapTiler, it is quite simple to upload a custom map into your Garmin handheld GPS navigation. You can use any available raster online map or scan a paper map. In MapTiler choose Google Earth option

    @davee3

    This is the basic workflow to get to a JNX file from a paper map using the brilliant MAPC2MAPC software (you can try it before you buy it):

    1. Scan the map to a jpg, jpeg, png file
    2. Buy a copy of MAPC2MAPC map conversion software
    3. Load your map jpg into MAPC2MAPC and calibrate (georeference) it
    4. You can check the accuracy of the calibration by writing a the calibrated map to kmz format and checking it on Google Earth
    5. If you are happy with the accuracy, write the map to a JNX file
    6. Then convert your new JNX file to an IMG file using JNX2IMG

    There is lots of information on this in this forum and on the MAPC2MAPC website etc
