I converted my Polish format map into Shp file with the help of mp2shp tool and compiled with the MPC. img file created successfully. Routing is preserved but there seems some POI mapping problem between GPSmapedit types and Garmin POI Types in mp2shp. I hope it will be solved by mapping correct type in _typ file.
I have some question please.
1 : mp2shp created POI.shp and points.shp files. What is diference between two because both had POI in it.
2 : Visibility Level of POI is different in IMG file created by MPC which do not match with the zoom level in MP file. What attribute in SHP/DBF file control the zoom level to manually edit.
3 : Does Arcgis has some add-on that could provide environment to work with Routing attributes, Polyline and point attributes within arcgis, compatible with Garmin MPC similar to GPSmapedit.
Currently my workflow is to digitize the lines in Global mapper ( it facilitates by inserting vertices or splits poly-line at intersection for creation of routing nodes in GPSmapedit). Then using Gpsmapedit to complete POI and Routing features. Then use mp2shp to convert into shp files and compile With MPC.
I am basically interested to add 3d models in my map at latter stage that's why I am interested in MPC.

... but there seems some POI mapping problem between GPSmapedit types and Garmin POI Types in mp2shp. I hope it will be solved by mapping correct type in _typ file.
Thе '_types' table is given in the mp2shp for a sample, carefully set this table for themselves.
Now the answers to your questions:
1. 'POI' unlike the 'points' are indexed and have the address information (i.e. Searchable):
2. Main menu of MPC > Configure Map Builds... > General Tab/Edit Feature Display Styles... > Edit Feature Display Properties/Right click on a POI > Change Detailed Layer Count - allows the user to adjust the number of detail map layers that the selected features will be included in.
3. Soon a new [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] will have a function of further export the data of MP format to other map formats. For example, MapInfo format or ESRI Shape format.
In my opinion, Shapefiles edited conveniently in MapInfo.

Discussed in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] thread too ...
Note: MPC is complex and multifunctional tool, please scrutinize the HELP before using it!

Hi to all.
The patch 7.22 with the demo files in the sample folder, and the testlicense.mpl gave me an error of expired license, where i can find another mpl?
Hi!
I have a couple of problems with MPC.
1. Then I run MPC Viewer:
File-> Open MapSource Product
I get the message:
Access Denied. File: c:\projects\mpcviewer\win\WIN_RegKey.h, Line: 480
2. I built new map without NT. The map built Successfully , but the same error: Unknown error while building installer
I create installer with MapSetToolKit. Map works. How to fix the problem with internal MPC installer?
Thanks!

Most likely, because you installing the compiled mapset into the MapSourсe by means of MapSetToolKit ...
