Nothing to do with luck, Garmin has made 3597 firmware differently to 3x90 firmware. I'd already informed you that it's not possible with 3597 to add MP3 & Video players because of the lack of the feature support [no icons appear even if rgn140 is modded]. The previous posts were [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] by Admin. The subject is simply OT in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] which is for the earlier 2xxx/3xxx [2012 2xx5/34x0/35x0] models and the method described in here won't work for any 2013 devices such as 3597 sorry. Garmin disabled xml editing even earlier so I agree with ddabcd277, feature-wise, nothing is 'hidden' like in the earlier models. Even firmware manipulation may not be possible without access to it's source code because reverse-engineering of modern firmware has been rendered extremely difficult, but again i agree that if it's possible it'll come from the East [we working capitalists in the West have neither the talent or application to succeed with that ].

I have an NA 3597 still running with modded rgn140 from earlier experiments last year, and although it runs perfectly it's otherwise the same as before modification.

PS: Didn't absorb your comment about the '3' and 2013 before. Not so, the 3xxx range began with 37xx series from 2011. But yes, the 3597 was introduced in 2013 around Apr/May in US i think.
