.img unlocked with gimgunlock (you could simply drag&drop the img in its icon to unlock it, as stated in its thread) are unlocked in every devices.
You cant lock a Garmin unlocked map. A locked map with FID greater than 2200, needs .unl and .gma to be unlocked in device.

Everithing went well succesfuly unlocked and copied map on the new SD card and working on gpsmap521S, but
please point me on thread how to associate the map to the ID num of the device and what tool to use .... grazie
the maps i am working on have FID < 2200

If the map already work, where is the problem?
For what you want associate map and device ID?

Maybe you looking for: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
But with what purpose?

If FID is less than 2200 use Jetmouse kg and, in Select your map, hit select custom mapset.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Naturally if in your map these codes are present. Look at Details in Gmaptool log.

Edit: an advice, better you don't use these old charts,they are no more reliable now.

If the thief has minimal knowledge as we teach in Noeman, he will be able to unlock the map and delete your .unl file in a half of minute…
And if the MapID >= 2200 you will get the "Unauthenticated" status: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
I don’t see for what you make this; and as catymag says, better you use the last version of the map.

Hi
I have a Garmin 4008 and all of the maps downloaded work on both my 4008 and 551 if you store them locked and then I download to a SD card and unlock with gimgunlock when on the SD card. If the card gets stolen then just download from locked store again.
