Search for an old version of MI if you want, but you can also use Mapsource to see the available space and it should work with XP SP2. You need to go a bit further along with the phantom install though. Make sure you select more map data than will fit on the SP, say around 2GB. Any cumulative combination of gmap folder data you have on you PC will do, but the current version of all of NA is 1.99GB by itself. When you click 'Send to Device' it will baulk and tell you there's not enough space letting you know what's actually available. Mine has 1504.1MB:

I'm unable to use it, it have same problem at installing Windows Media Player 11
i'm give up to use my Computer, so i go with my sister laptop with Windows 7
i already install those MapInstall and recognize SP2720, but is says no unlocked map has found in this device
where should i put those .img files so MI can see it ?

I think you might be misunderstanding what i suggested. You wanted to see available space on the SP:

You already know what maps(s) you've loaded and what size they are. What are you actually wanting to achieve?

As for MS compatibility with SP2, there are quite old versions of MS still around. Version 6.13.7 will work with it from memory i think.

I've just tried the rgn50 update method again, and it doesn't seem to work. Nor does changing the basemap to Pacific version in rgn3.

Save yourself a lot of grief and use MapInstall to load your second map as gmapsupp.img from a PC version [gmap folder] or use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to load an already complied image file.

After extracting NavNet 2.54 map i can see a bunch of .img files
should i load all off them on "SendMap add files" option ?
what about SRT/MDR .img and .typ files

No, that is a pc (Mapsource or Basecamp install) first install it on pc then transfer selected map (img) to your pc or device.
Better you read our [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
at point: Have you downloaded a PC map version (.exe) for Basecamp/Mapsource?

I may have confused you with this statement:

Navigasi is not loaded to the PC as a more modern 'gmap folder' type of PC Install, it's an 'older style' PC Install version formerly known only as a 'Mapsource [Install] Version' and both installed types are often still referred to today as that or BaseCamp Install/Version. However via MapSource or MapInstall both types are compiled into an image file meant for use directly on the device.

You cannot use SendMap20 to deal with PC Install versions. It's function is to load a previously fully compiled image file directly to the device as a secondary detail map [gmapsupp.img]. This is of particular use with older devices such as SP 2720 which do not allow files to be simply copied to the internal file system the way modern devices do. SendMap can also delete a secondary map from your 2720 to create more space for a larger primary map [gmapprom.img] to be then loaded using Garmin's map downloading software, i.e. GarminExpress or MapUpdater, or the command prompt method described on Page 1 here for 'unlocked' maps.

What's initially quite confusing to newer users is that the maps installed on the PC such as Navigasi have numerous *.img files contained in them. If you compare the file names of these with the 'map tile' names in the fully complied gmapsupp.img you will see that the names are the same. Open your Navigavi gmapsupp.img in GMAPTool, press 'Details' and you'll see what i mean.

This should no longer be confusing to you at all, after you read the Tutorials link proved by catymag.
