Just an advice. Never experiment with other nuмbers as you will kill your 278. (especially 5 (0x05)) You can upload an image (or what ever data you want) using also an rgn and proper firmware.
ddabcd/Doc, do you know how i should upload a new basemap to a StreetPilot 2610 or 2720? I'm wanting to change the Americas basemap for Pacific on both models.

When i rename the image file as a bin file and load it in RGN_Tool it loads as Section 3305 not XXXX and Region RGN 33 not 03, and i can't override them.

Ive tried also with command line for WU:

    C:\Garmin\Webupdater\webupdater.exe /i /autorun usb /upload_file rgn=3 path=C:\Garmin\gmapbmap.img

    and

    C:\Garmin\WebUpdater\webUpdater.exe /upload_file rgn=3 path=C:\Garmin\gmapbmap.img -autorun usb /i

Also tried rgn=03 with both. I get an error screen similar to that in Post #1 headed with 'Invalid Command Line Syntax'.

The command "C:\Garmin\WebUpdater\webUpdater.exe /upload_file rgn=49 path=C:\Garmin\gmapprom.img -autorun usb /i" worked fine for the detail map change on the 2720.

    ...........
Answering own question: The RGN packed basemap image can be loaded to units which have the basemap in rgn3 using Updater.exe as described in Post #9 here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ].
