It depends on maps, some maps can be downloaded actually on gps only, for example South America City Navigator or some African city Navigators, but nobody knows if it's forever.Originally Posted by walrus123

Mapsource is discontinued and has some issues to display new maps and to send imgs to devices, pc install actually means Basecamp install.

Yes, I understand about Basecamp. I didn't know that about South America City Navigator. The information, which supposedly comes from Garmin, applies to Basecamp install of CN EU, as of the next update. I just wondered if anybody else had heard that.

Of itself it is not news since the Basecamp replaced the unsupported MapSource. Garmin declared what you must run Basecamp and run MapInstall under its shell. Be wait for release! Originally Posted by walrus123
