Does anyone have the file structure of a GPSMAP 620? I cannot get BOTH an automotive, i.e. CN North America NT, and a marine, i.e. Garmin Bluchart g2 Vision charts loaded on to a single SD card where the unit will load the proper maps when switching back and forth between the two modes. Works fine with 2 separate SD cards. They are unlocked, I have tried EVERY variation of naming the two files, i.e. gmapsupp.img, gmapsup2.img gmapprom.img, etc., etc. but the 620 seems to only want to load the gmapsupp.img. It would be nice to be able to switch back and forth without changing the chip as it is behind the battery. I even merged the two .img files together and still no luck. I have fought with this for two days now and still no luck. Any help/suggestions would be very appreciated.
So Giomen, instead of a smartass remark, because I did look through all the forums, the answer seems to be no. Catymag, thanks, saw that post as well, but no solution. Tried merging with no luck. What would be nice to see is a 640 and how it is setup file structure wise, because that device comes from Garmin with both CityNavigator and Bluechart g2 preloaded. So, it seems it can be done, but no one on here has a 640. Should I ever get a chance to look at a 640, or I finally come up with a solution, I will be more than happy to post it here. Once again, thanks.
gpsmap 620 recognize only one map from SD ( gmapsupp.img ) no solution here for second map, only if garmin add support for second map.
You can split CN and add it in internal memory or you take two SD card, on one SD card add CN and on other Bluechart, so when you need auto mode you add SD with CN and when you need Boat mode, you add SD with bluechart, so simple is this![]()
Thanks lolypop000. That is what I was trying to avoid, multiple SDs. This I knew, but is a pain in the butt. Especially, since the SD slot is behind battery. Oh well. Thanks for the help.
Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
