    Can I ask why do you collect the typ files from the maps? Isn't every map using an unique typ? Can't find any logick.

    The first, Cnfhbr is creator of his region map.
    The second, I think he is like me want to see map with all advantage of looking with TYP.
    It is simple! The third is more difficult for mind. Some element such rock placers or building is very difficult for creation with a blank sheet. For example, you can draw on PC a very good icon in your opinion but you have seen in device a nightmare in the end. Everybody know how difficult to create fine icon!
    So why do not use experience of others?!
    Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?

    Ok, I understand. As you wish. Just a little advice. If you wish after the link of every typ file post also and an image from a nuvi.

    One very good prepared typ file is the one of the map BGRoutingmap. Can't see a link to it:

    The local guys developing the map are also the local representatives of Navitel.

    So why do not use experience of others?!
    Though at the end Garmin decides how a map will look in a device not the typ file. Ok, never mind.

    The more interesting typ files are the ones that are modifyed in order to improve readabilty in different situations. The ones supplied with most maps are of course a starting point for modifyed files but it can be a long way to go until you get it the way you want it.

    Here are files made for improved readability [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] , all cred goes to HMR !

    There is a readme.txt supplied that gives the key to which file is for which map.
    The files are made for improved readability primarily for MC off road use as said in the readme. Very good starting points for your personal customization.
    Remember that the typ file must have the correct map id! Often it is possible to use a typ file for another similar map but then the map id must be changed to match with the target map.

    I have one question connected to the CNEU maps; the typ file supplied with the maps are huge, 6MB, and can not be opened with the typ handling tools as far as I know. Are there any ways to extract info from the original typ file for modding? Of course you can use the files supplied in the archive above as starting points (which I do) but just curious.
