    I think it depends on countries, in Italy many times traffic jams are already solved or not yet reported: the service is late, but this doesnt depends on Garmin, it depends on traffic providers.

    You have to navigate to get to the good.

    Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600

    ...and it depends on the service. In Germany Navteq Traffic is really good - it already saved me a lot of time. But all other providers tell you that there is traffic jam if you are in it already.

    The Traffic services are constantly evolving. It is the providers, not the receivers that make it better. Google and the WAZE app are the best out there and a huge reason why people are abandoning dedicated GPS units for their IPhones. That said, I recently upgraded to a 3590LMT and the traffic information is fabulous. In metro NYC there are regular historic traffic patterns that are part of the basic information. Beach traffic and weekend vacationers are all taken into account. It seems to coincide with what I see on Google maps on my ipad. Since the Garmins have onboard mapping they are still a necessary gadget that can get you home even without internet service! The HD traffic is a huge improvement that seems to spill over onto existing units such as my old GTM-25 cable which now provides much better data. This is in metro areas - out in the countryside the radio is still the best warning of accidents on the interstate highway.
