    I think you can't easily see which one is faster while looking at map loading because:
    1) Firmware caches map data
    2) When drawing maps, a considerable bit of time is spent on drawing, so reading speed variations are vanished.
    Also reading speeds should be very different on different devices.

    So.. I can make patched firmwares which test the reading speeds by reading two long files and measuring the reading time.
    I could test it myself but I don't have any devices except nuvi 6xx, which would show completely odd results anyway as it's kinda slow.
    If someone is interested tell me your Garmin device model.
