Convert 3790/3760/3750 to 3490

Did anyone managed to install 3490 firmare on a 3790 succesfully?What are hardware differneces on the new 3490 from the 3790?
Is 3490 any better or you are better with 3790 sy firmware ?

It is real. I have one successfully converted device. But it is too hard at this time. May be i can find easy way. And current firmware 2.60 have too many small errors on non CN maps.

I read that others also have flashed 2.60 FW of 3490 to 37xx by making some gymnastics with the hwid and name of the rgn:

But it doesn't look very safe to me. I see that they are using also the original boot of 34xx FW.

Alex, think you are the only one who can answer, is that safe? Is it so simple? Think you can understand my idea why am I asking. Have a feeling that this method is going to multiply over the internet in the near future and many device are going to burn.

Why did they need to take boot.bin from 34xx.... Sounds really dangerous to me.

After the latest 37xx new sw release ,may be, should be nicer to convert 34xx to 37xx ? lol , there some nice features in 34xx, its menu layout and new Where to, but some important are missing as said above "cant get normal multiple points route" :removed the possibility to add a VIA to active route, that's so bad.
Pois in 34xx are few too , it should look more interesting to flash 37xx to any asian latest firmware.

The conversion is simple, but does not show 3D buildings and 3D terrain and not voice control.

I said "Rebooting loop" base on 37xx boot.bin
You may use 34xx boot but you may get boot = Fail (Inventory page)

You may correct the boot to be "Pass" but you still get the poor satellite signal.
You can't use voice command., 3D building., MP3 Player., VDO Player.., Contact.., Calendar.., POI icons.., (37xx Asian can do all.)

So I still love 37xx Asian fw.

Who knows?! (rhetorical question) What about if someone figure out how to combine all of the functions included in the Asian FWs and in the 34xx FW in one single firmware? You know all of the firmwares are compatible with 37xx hardware...Who knows...Feature will tell.

Its not dangerousto flash 37xx with original boot.bin from 34xx.
I flash Asian FW to EU 1300 with Asian boot.bin not EU.I take Asian FW and flash.
Asian FW work on EU nuvi that i tested with original asian FW (not change boot.bin) 2xx,2x5,2x5W,12xx,13xx,2xxx
All work like charm.
