After some stupid mistakes I've had success making a garmin custom map thanks to the sample files. How hard is adding basic routing to my new route? I'm trying to add some rout-able, low "route_lvl" walking trails that will connect with existing roads on the official Garmin Topo map. Nothing too complicated (I don't think). I'm still reading through the manual(s) but any tips would be appreciated.
EDIT: Routing turned out to be surprisingly easy, but I haven't worked out how to connect it to other maps yet. Still working on it.

I was working with a route that was shaped like a U. I tried routing on MapSource from from the beginning to the end point, but instead of following the U trail to it's completion, it worked for a bit then jumped across halfway. The jump was a few hundred meters. Why would it do this? I set the ROUTE_LVL to 1.
