You're not mentioning under what OS you're running nRoute.
If it's running on Windows Vista or Windows 7 you might try to set "Windows 95" as compatibility mode for this legacy application.
I have been using Garmin nRoute fro sometime and I prefer it to Mobile PC when navigating long car journeys.
For some time I have been getting a "Not Responding" error whwn I open nRoute and try to zoom in or out on the map on my laptop. I get the identical problem on my netbook. I have attempted a clean re-install of nRoute after a clean out of the registry. At fist the program work flawlessly and then the error re-appears. I have a destop install that seems to work without problem. The laptop & netbook intall are on dual core computer so I am not sure if that will make a difference.
I realize that nRoute is a little old but perhaps someone else has had a similar problem and perhaps has a come up with a solution to this.
I appreciate any help you may be able to offer.

I wonder if it is with a particular mapset?
I have been using Garmin nRoute (now v2.7.6) on my notebooks (currently Win 7 x64 and XP x32) since 2003 on an almost daily basis. I have 39 (yes I counted them) maps and charts installed and have never really encountered any problems apart from comms setup tweaking in the past.
I also prefer it to Garmin Mobile PC.

Thank you for your response. It got me thinking about the mapset that might have been installed when the problem started and those that have not changed since then. I uninstalled MetroGuide Canada v5 on my laptop and netbook and the problem disappeared I re-installed it and the problem re-appeared? I wonder what is diffrent about the Metroguide map thatmight make this occur. I am alsonot sure why it does not happen on my desktop. I don't know if it is related but when the error occurs there are two instances of nRoute in the Task Manage.
Thanks again. 39 mapsets all working innRoute that's pretty impressive.
I prefer Mobile PC but I wonder why GMPC has not 3D building or other funktion.
Buy Garmin PNA and have full enjoy!
It is marketing slogan from Garmin. He is not manufactured PC...
