Default Please update this threads title to add that....

    BaseCamp also works to!!!
How about "Portable MapSource & BaseCamp on a Pen Drive"?

    SAXnV

    Here's what I did...

1 - Create a "Garmin" and a "Maps" folder on a pen drive (such as "F:\Garmin\Maps").
    2 - Copy "MapSource v6.16.3 Special.exe", "BaseCamp v3.1.3 Special.exe", (AND, from your PC's BaseCamp install folder at "C:\Program Files\Garmin\BaseCamp", these following files...) "exiv2.dll", "xerces-c_3_0.dll" & "zlibwapi.dll" all to the pen drive's "Garmin" folder created in step 1.
    See the pic below:
    OksU2
3 - Copy a Garmin maps .gmap folder (such as one from CNNA, CNEU, etc...) to the "Maps" folder created in step 1.
4 - After step 3 (read the Note #1 below!), you can then also copy BaseCamps default "Global Map" (Global Application Basemap v2.gmap) from your PC's BaseCamp install folder (located at "C:\Program Files\Garmin\BaseCamp\Maps\Global Application Basemap v2.gmap") to the "Maps" folder created in step 1.
Note #1: The "Global Map" will NOT appear in the BaseCamp "Select a map product to display" OR the MapSource "Select a Product" drop-down selections UNLESS there is at least one other .gmap map folder (from step 3) in there along with the "Global Application Basemap v2.gmap" folder.
Note #2: BaseCamp .img files can be locked or unlocked and any name (such as "City Navigator Middle East & Northern Africa NT 2011.30 + Egypt, Morocco & Lybia.img", but they MUST be in the "Garmin" folder that's in the root of the pen drive.
