Does he mean to add 2 or more exits for the same station? So far, I see only 2 levels. So MRTwould need to be the POI icon in Where-to, the station name could be the first level and the exits for each station could be the second level.

    Hi all,

This post is pretty deep in this thread, but since the information I used came from here in the first place, I think it merits to be posted on this site as well. I apologize for linking to another forum, but I can`t double post everything. It is also in beta stage so maybe I'll start another clean thread when it is a bit more ready to be published. Ok. Here's the punch line:

I updated my Extra_POI_Editor to create POI files directly in the Where-To menu. How does it work? Open a POI file and save it as a .gpi file. No need to use POI Loader anymore. You will also be able to create multiple categories (Export by Category, Export by State, and more to come). You can even specify your own icon to appear in Where-To.

We'll test it soon and give feedback as usual and, yes, should be better to open a new thread.

    Default Nice !

    Hi turboccc,
Your new tool make me happy, I can make my own GPI .
Because I know this is a beta version , so I report some problem I got.

1). This tool only for ENG language , First I tried with Thai language and my 3790 can't read Thai font inside .gpi file. It's a little problem - I can use Eng language.
2). I tried with ENG language .gpx and save to .gpi file , loaded to 3790 and found nothing inside .gpi file
3). Can I change your original icon to mine.
    Thanks.

    Hi Aekhong,

    Thank you for reporting bugs.

1- Yes, it works only with English language. I completely forgot about that, but I am sure it can be corrected. I probably need to change something for that. If you could post me one .gpx file in Thai (with one POI inside) and its .gpi equivalent, I could probably find what is the issue.

2- Have you tried the Volvo .gpi file posted at the beginning of this thread? Do you see the POIs inside? I can see them because its an English file, but I cannot see any POIs inside the Mitsubishi file that is Thai. I have no explanation for this.

3- To change the icon, just make 2 bitmaps (less than 150 x 150 pixels) with the same name as the .gpi file you try to create, but with the suffix 1.bmp and 2.bmp. For example, you want a .gpi file called Peneng.gpi, create Peneng1.bmp and Peneng2.bmp in 24-bit RGB color bitmaps (or even 32-bit RGBA bitmaps!). The second bitmap is the one that appears when you push the first bitmap. Be sure to specifythe Folder in the Preferences where to find the 2 icons.

I hope I'll be able to fix those 2 issues with your help. Thanks.

    Dear Turbo,
Sorry, somehow I didn't pay attention to this topic anymore.
Normally Garmin has in its maps, multiple entries for specific countries.
MRT in this case means the Subway.
When I select for example a subway station in tne POI's it gives me the possibility to select "Others" and here its listing seperately Exit 1, Exit 2 and so on if the Subway station has more then one exit/entrance.
I am not sure whether this could be implemented also if the structure would be similar

    @aekhong,

Great! You got it. If the colors are wrong, you can check/uncheck the Alternate Icon Format bit in the Preferences. I forgot to mention. For the 37xx series (and probably all new GPS), it needs to be checked.

As for the attached files, I apologize for not mentioning that I needed a .gpi made with POI LOADER and not EPE. Sorry for that. POI Loader knows what to do with Thai. If you make the file with it, I will be able to mimic what it is doing. So, please make the .gpi with POI Loader. Thanks.
