Garmin XT Basemap prob
ok so heres the problem, ever since i changed my unlocked gmapsupp.img to another country my gmapbmap.img is not displaying sometimes. Randomly it will decide to display gmapbmap.img which ever detail map i have in the handset! The gmapbmap.img is showing that its loaded in /manage my data/mapsets along side the detail map.
when i first switch on the XT i know at first prompt screen (Where To/View Map) if the basemap will work by which colour the background is, if its white it loads if its blue it wont load.

powering on and off doesnt help the only way ive seen a difference in getting the basemap to show is the unit being off for a long time? frustrating eh i dont want to reinstall xT i remember only it was confusing, any idea why the basemap is not showing sometimes?

Phone is Gigabyte S1205 running WM6.5, Garmin xT 5.00.20wp, base map Worldwide Autoroute NR v5 no DEM, Detail map is City Navigator Australia & NZ 2011.20.
wasnt working last night driving in the city, then this morning turned on and its working?

Does sometimes it work and sometimes not, may be a ram problem?
Try to close all other running applications when you use Garmin-
Garmin abandoned Mobile XT on phones and it's not releasing new versions since a long time, probably new maps on some phones give problems , or your detailed map has problems.
Try last version

edit : discovered your problem , now I can see your pics
At night Garmin XT is blue and dark, at day is white, I guess your basemap works ,
your last pic shows your detailed map, basemap isnt visible at 80mt scale.
Maps colors can change in night vision too

arh ok so the base map was working all the time it was just the color mode! i found the settings in tools/settings/display/color mode and changed it to Day not Auto. hrm I wonder how it knew it was night time? anyways blue land was to difficult to distinguish against purple roads!! cheers was driving me crazy
btw.. do you need to have a gmapsupp.unl file in your SD garmin folder if the map is already unlocked, either by using basecamp yourself or from a ^ mapsource ready folder? i have detail maps from both of those sources and they seem to work fine just thought i wud check.

if you have an unlocked *.img and you add a "samename".unl in the same folder, it wont show up anymore
