Thread: CityXplorer maps unlocked to work in Nuvis 37xx series

I added all available maps for CityXplorer in the forums into one file and put them in SD card in Nuvi 3790 as fourth map named gmapprom.img
Nuvi sees them as CN Europe NT 2010.10,CN Russia NT 2011.10, CN Europe NT 2010.20,CN North America NT 2011.10,CN Europe NT 2011.10,CN Europe NT 2011.20, CN Brazil NT 2011.30
Since I cannot test them in all these cities I do not know how they will react.

USE MAP FOLDER ON SD CARD NOT GARMIN

I used singe files.
Beauty with the nuvi 3790 is that he reads img files. Seems that name is not of much importance. I used, for example, Amsterdam_2010_20.img then rename it to CityXplorer_Amsterdam_2010_20.img and both work. Must be with UNL file with the same name, of course or use unlocked images.
You can do this with the rest of the map, Europe, America, Mexico ... Here is my list from the SD card:

Result is that when you update maps you need to create only one map, not all of them again and again.

I also put them in map folder.. But so many maps interesting.. I will try tomorrow. A question? Do you think 3d maps can be added also like this? That I have to try also..

Yes, you can add 3D maps like I mention. Look at the beginning of the list:

Australia.img
Australia_3D.img
NorthAmerica_2011_30_3D.img
NorthAmerica_2011_30.img

I'm not sure if they got to have same name as the leading map, but it is easier to organize maps when you add 3D at the end.

Some weeks back i loaded New York and paris with NO problems on sd card (3790T)
However, the Australian cities ie: Melbourne and others, will not show up on nuvi no matter what i try, incluing running unlock software we use. Has anyone had any issue??
Also to note. Melbourne Navetq has sensis map , i think this is error by uploader.

No they do not work. GMA file is needed.
Modified maps are required from this tread.
I used them.

Maps with FID below 2200 work, but even if unlocked UNL file is needed for public transports. Key must be calculated with PID 2.

In post one you did not mention that PID should be 2... Do you mean we we need two unlock codes attached bac to back in unl file. one with PID 1 and one with PID 2, or just PID 2 is sufficient for both Pub Transport and enhanced ped mode?
