How to enable Voice Command for your regional language (For Nuvi 3790)

Nuvi 3790 has a Voice Command feature but not for all language menu ie Thai., Malaysia.
Now I can enable some feature of Voice command to use in Thai language menu (Speak Eng to activate ASR.) .

I will show how to when I have a more time., to be continue.

This is how to.
Open en_GB.glx and copy header section as below.

Next :: Open another .glx file that you won't use ie FR language ., you will see heaader as

Next :: Delete FR header above and replace with en_GB header.

Now you have FR menu language with en_GB header.

Next :: edit dispaly name

Now you will get a modified menu prompt to select., and ASR icon will appear.
But menu language is FR., so the next step is to replace the rest of this file with your regional menu language.
After that ., you will get ASR icon with your menu language.
The next step is ., to translate your language to ENG for ASR feature only.

And then you will get ASR feature with your language (That garmin still disable ASR function for your language menu)

Try it and tell me what you feel.

Hi, I tryied to do this procedure to create a Brazilian Portuguese file, but I had no success. Coul you explain better the procedure after the header change?

garmin has not yet make disponíble version for other languages including Portuguese.
Could you explain how to get voice commands in Portuguese?

First section name is for ASR:

So you need to translatein in ENG all in section name="ASR" all other you have in your language.

You can try with this:

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I add name Brazil ( create backup of original fr_FR.glx before you add changed fr_FR.glx in your folder Text)

WARNING: This language text file is only for nuvi 37xx, don't use it in other nuvi, becouse if you use it your nuvi will stuck and you need then cure tool to bring nuvi back to life.

Hi Loly,
Maybe I did something wrong but it I bricked my 3490.
Would not get past Garmin Screen with 3490 bla bla (no Loading Maps)
Had to go in with GarminCure3 and delete the file.
All working Now.
Frst time I bricked this Nuvi, Will send you account for dry cleaning.
