The castles of the Loire are mostly buildings constructed or substantially altered in the French Renaissance, a time when royal power was located on the banks of the river, its tributaries near where they (the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries ). Most castles still draw their origins in the Middle Ages they retain important architectural features. 42 castles are usually called Castles of the Loire.The remarkable concentration of monuments in the area justified the classification of the Val de Loire World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, between Sully-sur-Loire (Loiret) and Chalonnes-sur-Loire (Maine-et-Loire) .


NB : Some castles are strangely not commented as Chambord or Blois. They are still embedded in this TourGuide, but without audio.
