What's CN330?
Hi, I flashed my Garmin Nuvi 205 yesterday to a CN330 version. But I forgot to delete the file of \Garmin\GUPDATE.GCD before the flash. After restart, the fonts become much larger than before as the screen can only display 2/3 of the total contents. For example, I can't find the battery icon now and some buttons are hidden below the screen. Although the GPS seems working fine, it's usefuless as I can't access some of function. It's pity that I can't even flash it back as the battery icon is hidden as well. I think the new firmware is designed for a bigger / wider screen machine.
Could someone here help me out? Is there anyway to access the Diag Mode without holding the battery icon? Or adjust the display mode using PC?
Many thanks!!!
What's CN330?
It's file with name of "S40827_NA610_CN330_sonic.rgn"; I used it together with an updater file.
Has anyone met such a problem or know a clue to fix? I just came to my current city but can't use the GPS, very frustrated~~
Help please~
Try to reflash to your original version
As far as I understand, I need to enter into Diagnostic or maintenance mode to reflash. I only know one way to do that, which is pressing the battery icon for a while. However, as all the fonts become much larger, the battery icon dissappeared. I don't know another way to get into the Diag Mode. Or Is there a way to reflash without entering into the Diag Mode? Many thanks!!!
The firmware used was probably for a 4.3" widescreen GPS instead of the 3.5" screen for your 205. It's very dangerous--could potentially brick your GPS--to be messing with the firmware if you don't know what you're doing. Even if you had selected a 3.5" firmware version, there still are different firmware versions for different hardware revisions for that particular 205 model (distinguished by their HWIDs), and they're not interchangeable. I've no experience messing with a GPS's firmware except via Garmin's WebUpdater, but you can try reading through the following thread for some possible answers :

Good luck.
