Post here please your help request regarding Garmin

I'm off to romania on 9th July and I'm trying to unlock the ROAD 2008 map which I have downloaded from this section.

I've looked in the tutorials, and I've patched my mapsource 6.16, and I've downloaded jetmouse keygen.

Keygen is generating a product unlock code which is 6 characters too long for the 'Product ID' box on the Unlock online page. If i copy and paste from keygen to the garmin unlocker, the last 6 characters are truncated and i get an 'Invalid product ID' message.

Can anyone help?

JetMouse key is not for online unlocking.
Go in MapSource in "Utilities" -> "Manage Map Products" -> "Unlock Regions" -> "Add" and enter key

i keep getting a registry error when i try to open mapsource . . . i need help to sort it out.I tried uninstalling reinstalling and deleting registries of gamin and mapsource in regedit . . .no luck . . .Thanks in advance

use mapsetoolkit to uninstall maps and to clean the registry - you can also have a check of errors in registry

Do NOT use the Garmin internet page!

Use in Mapsource:
Tools --> release maps (Ctrl-U) --> Regions (the tab) --> Add
--> and then add the 25-character unlock key in the 1st line
--> in the 2nd line, you can add some comments, e.g. FID no.

These are the menu points in Mapsource 6.15.11. The menu names might be a little bit different, since i have a german installation and just translated them. The hard thing is usually, to find the 'regions' tab. Then, everything is very easy.

Hello helpers,

I bought a new Dakota (broke the old one) my maps are unlocked already (even after uninstal the resinstal) the new device says unlock problem (as the maps are unlocked but with another device)

Your maps were unlocked for old device and not for new
Try with this tool

Hi Everyone,

be gental; newbie warning!!!

I have a brand new Oregon 550 and will be going walking in austria very soon and I'm trying to get the transalpine V2 set working on my new unit. Ijust can't spend £180 for 5 days map usage.

I have copied down the UNLOCKED img file from the maps thread, unrar'ed it and copied it to the \garmin folder on my SD card. Its the only one named gmapsupp.img

The garmin comes back with a "can't unlock maps" error while starting the 550 and the new file can't be seen under the map manager option on the 550's settings screen. The previous img worked fine on this card, in this folder,with this file name.

Could someone please tell which really stupid thing I've done wrong?

you havent done anything wrong, new oregon firmwares ask for new GMA file, so this map isnt unlocked in your unit- before copying in your sd run on the img this one

hi,
i just got a nuvi 1250 with US & Canada basemap. I was trying to load a [Garmin] Malsingmaps Malaysia/Singapore/Brunei SGMyMal NT 2010.20 into it however, i could only see the highway and unable to do address search. The map has been unlocked with a which i got and is saved with a notepad as .unl file. Can anyone please advice?
