rename the map gmapsupp.img and unlock with jetmouse keygen creating the unl file with notepad
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

on jetmouse keygen v1.5 put either the 10 digit gps unit id number (will be unlocked only in your gps)or the sd serial # (it will be unlocked in any gps you put the sd card
under-select map product --on the bottom ---custom map set---add the maps FID# also called mapid #

click generate a few times on the bottom-all those numbers will unlock the map--copy that 25 digit number into the gmapsupp.unl file --- don't add a enter --just 25 digits on the first line ----
on a sd card create a garmin directory--in that directory copy your gmapsupp.unl file (unlock file) and the gmapsupp.img (g2 map)
When you save the .UNL file in Notepad, be sure you set the "Save as type" to "All Files", not "Text Documents".

Thank you, i could load the mapset on my US Zumo 550. But this brings up two more questions which guys might know the answers to:
    1. is there any way to make a US Zumo read Kanji maps aka NT v10 Japanese?
    2. does anyone know what is the best way to try to search/find an address in the Japanese maps?

For point 1. - as far as i can see it should be possible to replace the system files located on the Zumo "system" drive things like gmapprom.img, gmapbmap.img, etc from a JP version of the Zumo and this should enable an originally US Zumo read the Japanese Kanji map. I have a friend here with a JP Zumo who agreed to let me copy his system files to try, but i was wondering if any of you guys have tried this before or know any other tricks.

For point 2. - i know that with a Japanese version of the Zumo you can search by phone numbers, amongst other ways, but the phone # search is the easiest if you don't read Japanese. Do you guys know of any other tricks for trying to search for an address, zip code, etc?

    link in post 2 works
I'm using this mapset, it downloaded and runs ok on the Zumo.
I'm now following the info published in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to generate the MapSource version from this IMG. I've been able to successful create the multiple IMG and related files.
When i run the Install.bat it does add this map into MapSource, however it again comes up as locked and i'm unable to unlock it.
I'm using the Keygen.exe 1.5 fixed and MapSource 6.16.1 Special. I used the MapID: 453 for generating the Key, but have left the PID blank since there was no PID listed on the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Does anybody have any advice/suggestions as to where i'm going wrong?
Alternately is there a place i can download the real unlocked or unlockable MapSource version of this map?

    TIA for your help guys.

    1st question: No idea
2nd question: There is no address system in Japan, so best would be to navigate by POI's or Coordinates

I had some problems with MapSource 6.16.1 + patched and solved when I installed 6.15.11 + patched
Maybe you could try with 6.15.11

Thx for the tip, i've already switched to the 6.15.11 patched version. Unfortunately i still can't get it to accept the key for the City Navigator Japanese NT v10 maps to unlock this map. I'm generating the key with the Keygen v1.5 fix, using my Zumo S/N, etc.
I think it is something pretty simple, because when i add the key in the "Unlock Regions" tab it accepts it, but still shows it as a "Map product not installed". For example with the UUD map once i enter the key in the same way it recognizes the map and calls it by it's full name.

Just to make sure I'm doing it right, from the original post for this map, it says to use the MapID: 453, and the PID: 1 is the default - is this correct? I have successfully installed this map on the Zumo so am really confused why i can't get the MapSource part to work.

Use the code in the file of gmaptool00.unl (generated automatically after splitting the file of gmapsupp.img) to register in MapSource instead of generated by the kgen.

Would it be possible to post the unlocked map here? I run Mac OS X, so I can't use the unlock program. Thanks!

Is this the latest available version? I see the v11 is out as well, but not yet on torrent sites. Also, how to avoid the kanji problem on non-japanese GPS devices?
