Hello,
New poster here and I am starting into this so please bear with me. I have done a lot of reading and I am a litle lost on something.

Here is my situation. I am only dealing with Marine maps G2 digital.
1. An original sd card has two files on it for the visual G2 maps the img file and the unl file.

2. Now i have downloaded a map that I have copied to a blank SD card but there is only one file.

3. How do i find or create the second file unl to put on the SD card so that it will work properly?

New here and just trying to learn.. Thank you for all your help and what a great site.

Here is the issue that I seem to have using this app. Is that what do I select from the pull down from in this utility for the GPSMAP model? This is the BIG issue, do not know what to select here for Vision G2 cards for GPSMAP Marine units?

Also, where do I find, determine or figure out the SD cards serial # from? I mean do I need to copy the serial of an original Garmin Vision G2? Sorry to sound stupid, but if I have a new SD card, what do I use for a serail#?
I found the serial # to the gps so I will try that first, but I would like to figure out the SD way as well.

I am itching to try this out... Thanks for the help.

you have been so helpful, but I am not understanding what options to select to create the unl file. IE: from the pull down there are not options that I see for the Visual G2 or Garmin GPSMAP marine devices. What I am trying to know is how I can lock down an unlocked map so that it can only be used in 1 GPS System. I have a Garmin GPSMAP 441S and I have the units serial #. But I do not know what options to use in the key generator so that I can create a unl file that I think is what I need to do. In the keymaker options there is no option for the GPSMAP (Or I just do not know which one to use for the Garmin Marine units G2 Visual) so I do not know what to generate. Could you direct.

Also, thanks to your help, I was able to copy an unlocked to the garmin folder on my new SD card and it worked fine. Then again thanks to your help I did my first unlock and test and it worked great. Now I want to copy and unlocked to a card and generate a unl so that it can only be used in said unit.

Finally, where on the forum should I post the Hotfile links for my unlocked map?
