Read this too for possible problems with some unlocked FM TMC Subs added to GTMx6 [also prob. GTM60/70]: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
To receive traffic information on your Garmin unit, you need a traffic receiver and antenna to send traffic information to your navigator. Many models comes with traffic receiver in the box. For more information look here
Each TMC receiver has its own 10-digit ID.
This one is another number, it's NOT nuvi ID, you can find it only when nuvi is connected to TMC receivers. Go to menu Tools, Settings, Traffic, Subscriptions, Add and see message containing your TMC receiver ID.
Each subscription has its FID, PID, RgnID an VenID, similarly to Garmin map product. All known subscription ID are gathered at the end of this post.
Both values, TMC ID and subscription ID can be used to generate unlock code. Use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for creating unlock codes.
Start keygen, insert TMC ID into field 'Enter your Unit ID here' then go to Select Map Product and choose Custom Mapset. In Custom Mapset window check Enable additional fields and fill all 4 values for FID, PID, RgnID, VenID.
You need to manually write the unlock code to TMC receiver in the same menu you used to find TMC receiver ID.

USE THIS TOOL ONLY TO EXTEND EXPIRING SUBSCRIPTIONS:
Spoiler: Click for Download and Instructions
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Note: All traffic Subscriptions are Lifetime for the receiver. Some have an end date because they were purchased for a pre-defined period. If so, the expiry date can be extended using the app & JM kg especially modified for that sole purpose.
How to use:
Run the "jmgkg13modTMCExp.exe"
Enter traffic receiver id.
Select custom map id
In "Select Map Product" field, select "Custom Mapset". Open "Garmin_Week_calculator_TMC_MOD.XLS". Type number in "Enter Week Number". "Real Last working Day" field will give you the date when your new subscription would expire. Type "Enter week number" in kg.
Use generated number in your GPS to extend your subscription.

Apparently this only works if you have an expired sub for TTN in your receiver already.
Before applying it check the code you get with the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] program to verify that it is for FID 28992 and expires about 50 years from now.

Reason: add quote post for alternate code PL + HR + RO.
I did what you've suggested. I managed to activate it and it gives me traffic update but it does not alert me of the traffic ahead. I have to press the traffic icon to get the view of where traffics are.
I have nuvi760.
I managed to successfully add a code to my Nuvi 660 but once I clicked back to "traffic" under settings, it keep saying it needs activation and that it will be automatically activated once the gps gets satellite signal and start communicating with the traffic provider. I let my 660 stand for about 15mins with a strong satellite signal on it but the traffic just does not seem to activate or work.
Any idea as to how to activate it or say make it work? Thanks for your help.
I did this with my nuvi 760 and it display that my signute is Lifetime Subscription, but only for a few minutes, then it returns showing expired subscription, this is for the TTN (US).
The Navteq (US) works fine, is OK.
I use the GTM20 traffic receiver attached to the Nuvi 760, my software version is the last v4.9 .

Any idea why it's doing that? Thanks.
Did you activate the tools/settings/navigation/avoidance/traffic option ?
I generate an activate code using the number "1527" , this number is a random number, I thought if it doesn't work with 28992 lets try with another, and it gives me back validation until 06-November-2023. I use the keygen with 4 digit, not the v1.5 with checksumfix.
The TTN(US) 28992 / 0 / 0 / 1 , don't work for me. Only the Navteq 28935 / 0 / 0 / 1 is LifeTime subscription.
