Radomir Mucha-Kruczyński has released a series of routable road maps based on data available via Open Street Maps.
This map contains limited streets for Ethiopia but does allow you to have turn-by-turn directions.

The map is too simple and not detailed. What a pity!
I just downloaded the AddisMap.com file and put it in the Garmin folder on my son's GPS (he is moving to Ethiopia in Dec). We are in the US. How do we use the new Ethiopian map? Can it be "checked out" or even seen somehow on the Garmin while still in the US?
In other words, how does this one file work with the Garmin? Can we even see it while running the Garmin here in the US? It is the Garmin nuvi 1450
Thanks
Ken
I still have no idea how to get it to work. My son is now in Ethiopia and his car finally came and he needs the GPS to work there. We put the gmapsupp.img file into the Garmin folder on his Garmin 1450. But there must be something else. He said his Garmin will pick up the satellite over there, but does not pull up any map or anything. What else do we need to do?
Thanks
Ken Spector
