I have Autoroute DEM Basemap NR 2.00 file (gmapbmap.img) size is 90,5 mb
This version 4.00 file size is 49.2 mb
Why so smaller ?

depends on compression ,newer one have better compression like NT vs non Nt
You have to navigate to get to the good.
