CatyMag,

Does these steps sound right?

1) gmapsupp.img should be placed in a folder named Garmin in memory card
2) Lane Assist file should be placed in Garmin/JVC folder in gps unit, then delete the old file in gps unit
3) Forget about the 3D & Time Zone files since 855 does not support it

If you put the lane assist file in the memory card under Garmin/JCV folder, did you also have to delete the original file in the gps unit?

Thats a lot! I have been looking for this. Hopefully .30 adds the streets that were missing when i bought my Garmin, and also when I updated it.

what are these and if I need them, where can I get them??

you can merge them with gmaptool.exe with a limit of 4 gb

on the garmin directory of your gps probally is a gmapprom.img file about 900 mb

move it to the compuiter to make room---or copy and delete it--

then copy the unlocked file after you name it gmapprom.img to the garmin directory of your gps--

the sd probally worked except you needed to deselect the old map first--as you can't display two maps at the same time---that cover the same area--

anyone that asks a question on this forum--is far from ignorance---as this is the place to get the best maps with the support.

I tried alsk unlock nt 2010.30 map on my nuvi 660. my 1st attemp was to remove the old gmapprom.img and reload the new gmapprom.img unlock by alsk. When I tested my garmin it shows major roads and some roads are missing also im not able to search for address or look at my map version info. What am I doing wrong? Also, I loading the gmapprom.img to the sd card and rename it to gmapsupp.img that didn't work either. Help please....
