I had a lot of trouble using this version finding a working global_cfg file in Primo. It just kept crashing, even though the global cfg files I attempted had the files it was complaining were missing, in the end a global cfg that doesn't even have these files is the one that worked.

Your problem was your old Windows CE program version which is not compatible with latest global.cfg files.
Android program versions should not have problem with latest global.cfg files, specially not NG versions.
