@ConiKost,
How about posting the link to that info from Garmin.....
That way users can read for themselves.
Garmin announced today, that City Navigator Europe NT is now discontinued. No new map updates.
Lastest version is 2025.10.
It's unknown, that this means for NTU maps in future.

I just got done doing some test all day today with a Nuvi 1340 using Garmin City Navigator Europe NTU 2025.10.
Including the "jcv" files and all working with no problems at all.
Now the 1340 has very limited space of 4GB, using Mapsource I made a Portuguese and Spain gmapprom.img file for the memory side of the unit so there would be enough space for the 2 "jcv" files.
Then used an 8GB SD card and had Mapsource make a map of Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and Luxemburg as a gmapsupp.img file.
Took the 1340 out for a couple of tests 25 to 30 KM. on highways and local street.
The "jcv" pop up to show a full screen of the exits to take.
You can also do this in "Demo" mode to test everything out too.
So seeing that "NT" Europe will not be made any more you can switch to"NTU" version with no problems at all.

Unless you need to use Cyrillic or other Unicode-specific features (particularly for address searching), the NTU version of mapping will work fine in devices with firmware originally designed for NT. At some point Garmin issued a firmware update for 1xxx devices to make them more unicode compatible however Garmin won't supply NTU maps willingly, even for devices with NT LM because they consider them 'end of life'.
This is where you may have actual problems because MapSource uses a different algorithm to assemble IMG files from GMAP tiles and it might not play well with modern NT/NTU map data. Best to use MapInstall to avoid problems on the road such as spontaneous rebooting or freezing when navigating. Now the 1340 has very limited space of 4GB, using Mapsource I made a Portuguese and Spain gmapprom.img .....
I'm aware of all the arguments for continuing to use MS because of the better GUI and selection process and I actually much prefer it too over MI. However in practice, imho the lessor of the two evils is having to contend with MI's crappy interface. I recall someone did hack a MI version years ago to enable the window to be enlarged sufficiently to make it bearable, it was pietu i think before he was banned.
Took the Nuvi 1340 using Garmin City Navigator Europe NTU 2025.10 on a trip over the weekend last week had it running along with my DriveSmart 61 and all worked for the 250+ KM to the hotel and then we drove back the 250+ KM and all work with no problems including the "jvc" and speed cameras. and traffic.......
So making maps with Mapsource did not cause any problems at all.....
When I go to Spain in November I will take the Nuvi 1340 with me and test it for the 10 days and report back.
There should be no problems....
As the Nuvi 1340 with an SD card You only need to put the maps you need on it via Mapsource.
No need to have all of the EU on it......
But that is just the way I do it others can do it the way they want.....
