    Default Kenwood DNR4190DABS (Garmin+DEM)

    Evening all,
I've a couple of old 3790 Nuvi's I just took out of storage & gave them a fresh update.
While looking at the Garmin file structure on my devices, I noticed the Kenwood does not appear to have the digital elevation model, .DEM file which is responsible for the 3D representation of terrain,& wondered if It would work if added?
I'm assuming its not added to the head units Garmin files which exist internally, & externally on an SDXC because there is no mention of DEM support in the external memory .XML script.

Does anyone here have experience of editing the .XML script they could help out with?
Basically to asisit in adding support for DEM, As an experiment to see if it will work or not on the external memory where all map updates are typically stored.

DEM file is in iGO. For Garmin, it is gmapdem.img
The xml file is not edited, but the add-ons are paid for. Or, you have to p*tch device or use unlocked content. Not on this Forum

Many questions become very arduous, a lot of time chewed deja vu...Since we have lost all the year of work and effort, many people have no will to answer the same questions again. Me neither. Use a search, please.

Wow thanks for the insight Boki this worked a treat, What a difference this makes without latency too.
I did the unlocked method. Users should see the Europe DEM tick box under myMaps should anyone wish to try this.
