Thread: TOMTOM ONE 1GB version (4n01_002) no gps and NEW MAPS?

Hi folks,

i bought a oldy tomtom (as reserve) for 4 euro on marktplaats (dutch ebay). But i want it to live again.
Now it just doesnt seem to find a gps signal. It also included the original official Tomtom RDS-TMC. The devices recognises it. There is a popup when i plug the device into the "3,5mm" port. Probably functional.

FACTS:

0. I have the whole SD card backuped up. So i can mess around.
1. I connected the TomTom to the computer. The maps date back from 2008! (in windows explorer) Most folder names have that date.
2. TomTom Home can help me get the newest maps for 49,95 euro which is a joke offcourse. The whole unit costs 4 euro. What maps are those? Probably latest compatible not the 2024 versions.
3. Navcore is 8.010 which is the latest official version. I cannot update in TOMTOM home (did all the updates).
4. I installed FastActivate and TT activator version 1.2 in root folder. Yes it does find the 1120 maps but it says it can download and install it but there is no META/Blowfish codes. Yes i downloaded these newest maps, but tomtom says nothing found.
5. TOMTOM ONE 1GB version (4n01_002) with the addon RDS-TMC

How can i get the latest maps on it? (Benelux and Germany, but mainly Benelux) I searched on several fora, but i am stuck. Probably its something small i miss.

4/2/2024 I did full reset (via the pin and on the screen) then I deleted the whole Europe 1GB version from 2008. I browsed through the meta.txt and found the right map with meta. Benelux. It installed the 1110 version with meta (i copy pasted the tekst of "1120_xxxxx" into the search bar of the maps in Activator). Outside in the car after a while the TomTom one started to find satellites. It took a lot of time but in the end it worked. I think i fixed it. Its not the latest map but a usable one. Downloading of the maps i did with Tomtom activator 1.2 which still gets you there.
