The ROM on Navman and Mio GPS(PNA) is simply the operating system and will not solve anything as far as your problem is concerned...

Navman 5000 LM rom or firmware
Problem on Navman 5000 LM is white screen on start up.
No comunication with PC
Does somebody have factory rom to flash unit?
