Exclamation iGO neglects the map of Israel

iGO, which was invented by Israelis, shamefully neglects the map of Israel.

It has been a year since the last update and thus it seals iGO's fate in IL compare to Waze, Sygic and OSM.

iGO has completely lost its primacy and can no longer be trusted for navigation in Israel.

    Definitely sad!

    iGO is invented by Hungarians.
But that's a discussion that has nothing to do with this theme.

Complaints and remarks about maps and nav software in the topics:

    P.S.
You are talking about a local provider/publisher that was iGO partner.
And like most small local providers, it no longer pays for them to compete with the big ones.

A very gross mistake. iGO is originally an Israeli program.

    Really? What version?
At the neighborhood convention in 2007, I did not see any Israelis. Nor was I told so.
Only if they lied to me ...
Israelis were businessmen, Hungarians were IT professionals. They founded together NNG company. iGO is the pure work of Hungarian programmers.

If anyone has more specific information, please feel free to share.

I will clean up this topic later and move the posts to the free section.

Exactly what I said. 2 Israeli business man (although Hungarian technicians are not mentioned anywhere in that moment), the company's product is iGO which was introduced later, and which was created by Hungarians.

As I partially mentioned, I went to a few of European seminars, one abroad and two in my country, which concerned NNG and their local partners (Kontrast and Prestigio).

Sorry to disappoint you. iGO was born in the "fevered minds" of people who dreamed in Hebrew.

Nav N Go company was founded in 2004 by Dodi Wernick and Kobe Halperin (both Israelis), the owners of the "Gps&More" company. Both founded the NNG company in Hungary and linked their vision with Hungarian development team. The company is also particularly known for iGO, the navigation software it developed.

    Portfolio / Dodi Wernick
President of the navigation software company "NAV N GO"

"Navigation: I was exposed to the field at an aviation exhibition and brought to Israel the product of the Garmin company, which I also helped to characterize.

Destinator: Kobi Halperin and I came across a company that developed a navigation engine and asked us to characterize it. We started marketing them in Israel until we realized that it would be impossible to work with them anymore. We agreed that we would break up within six months. They mocked us and I promised them that we would take over the market, and so it was.

Hungary: I went there with Kobe to meet some guys who developed 3D games for mobile phones. I showed them what we wanted to do and within six months there was a product.

NAV N GO: We founded the company in Hungary and a year later in Israel."
And to the best of my knowledge and memory from 2006, Dodi & Kobe, the entrepreneurs, founders, inventors and owners of iGO, accomplished what they saw and wished to create, and they came out with the first version which was iGO 6, in Hebrew and with the map of Israel of course.
Eventually, iGO evolved to be multilingual, but it will always have the privilege of being born with Hebrew as its mother language.

We remember such events very well because they are burned in us as "Israeli pride".

And btw - I have the 6's version in the drawer with a proper PND.

Why would someone else's attitude disappoint me? In other words, seeing things

Sometimes I am fascinated by the human need for national pride
Caused by someone's success, although in the absolute majority of cases those who invented/contributed/created something have absolutely nothing to do with their country of origin other than their ancestors.
I'm saying this in general, I've seen it everywhere, including my compatriots.

I was present at those seminars, I was told who the owners of the company are, and that they are Israelis origin. And I also got more information about the rest of the team (Hungarians, although some others joined them).

I still have the device (Prestigio GV430) with the original box and software that I received as a gift. I used the device until a few years ago when I finally decided to get a new and bigger one.

But, under no circumstances would I mix politics/nationalism/religion with the content of the Forum. Everyone has the right to their opinion, here we stick to the Forum theme.

    =======
    Back to OP

    The point is:
should you blame the company (which has nothing to do with the one from more than 15 years ago), or should you blame local associates in your country? And do you have absolutely reliable information about that?
