ALL Garmin automotive devices can enter preboot mode, you proved that your 2669 can do so by getting 'System' to show on screen. The method I detailed does work, you must do it exactly as written and be very quick or the device will exit preboot. The problem is always down to speed and timing and these modern auto devices are an absolute b*tch to flash with Updater.exe. Flashing BIN files via Update.txt commands is so much easier but more risky than using a safely-named RGN file in Updater. If a mistake is made in the compilation of the SD kit the result may be fatal for the device (say if a wrong Ldr.bin is used, the bootloader and X-loader in regions 5 and 43 likely will be fritzed and that may render the device totally non-recoverable by any software method).
