Default No Voice Recognition, on car unit NO, on tablet Yes

    Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place for my problem but I try.

I have installed on my tablet:
    iGO Nextgen
    9.18.27.687519
    Jan 26 2017
    skin by pongo
    version 31 januar 2018

Works perfect but I was testing if Voice Recognition would work and yes it does perfect.
Activate VR in the menu and there is this VR button on the screen.

I have exactly the same version installed on my Car Head Unit ( Joying DE-JY-UM124N2 ) and
    here VR does not work.
When I activate it in the settings menu there is no VR button on the screen.

Just to be sure I deinstalled the iGO Nextgen in the car and deleted the complete iGO_Gift folders and rebooted.
I copied the complete iGO_Gift folder incl subfolders from the tablet to the car and installed the same app as on the tablet.

Everything works perfect except VR. When I activate VR there is no VR button.

Also TTS engines are the same both on the tablet and the car unit.
I can record my voice with the voicerecorder app so the mic works.
Looks like iGO does not find the microphone maybe ?

What am I doing wrong or is this a Joying problem maybe ?

    Edit :

    Found the solution.
Noticed that the Google app was not installed so I installed from the Google Play Store and now the Voice button is there and it works !

    EDIT 2 :

Except in the head unit > Settings > Language and input > Speech I don't have the " Voice input " setting where you can choose between Enhanced Google services and Basic Google recognition.
There is only " Voice output " witch goes to Text-to speech options
Maybe that's the reason Voice input not always find / understand the correct addresses ( only basic setting available ) ?

Hi Are you able to provide details of which Google app was not installed on the head unit?

In the Google Play Store search for:

    Google
    Google LLCTools

    It's the first result.

I never used the Basarsoft version, after Avic I went to Israel, but I don't think Basarsoft has support for Voice Recognition, in fact in this discussion we talk about of iGO Nextgen 9.18.27.687519 Jan 26 2017, Israel or Gift version.

    @gabinov
So you need to install the ' Google ' app and internet connection.
VR does not work without internet.

In addition to Google and the Internet connection, he must also use a TTS Voice, but I think it does not work equally because Basarsoft does not support VR, or at least does not appear in the specifications of those versions.
It's a bit like for Truck attributes, not all versions support them so you can put as many ux/plugins as you want, but it doesn't work.

In my opinion there is a much more effective remedy, get help from Maps.

One of the limitations of VR is the difficulty with the names of the streets and cities particularly long, but the very big limit of VR is largely due to the scarcity of house numbers and the number of POIs, and this is the fault of the maps we use and not the software, if they are not there, it cannot invent them.

On Google you find all the POIs you want and also the house numbers are certainly more precise.

Some time ago I made the Maps_in_cockpit plugin, but now it is already included in both the Arimi and Pongo skins, through the button in the quick menus you open Maps, say the address or the name of the POI and once you find it "share" via Map2Geo or Send to Navigation, (Free app from the Play Store), with your version of iGO.

If your version of Basarsoft is not supported by the two apps, just update it to a more recent version.
