Then you better turn the GPS receiver on. Your "problem" has nothing to do with iGO, but android Settings->Location.
I'm having issues with iGO ver. 8.4.3.179971 running on Android 2.3.6
The phone GPS is on, but the app displays the "looking for gps signal" text line on the top of the screen, and if you tap it it displays a message saying "Your GPS receiver has been turned off"
Then you better turn the GPS receiver on. Your "problem" has nothing to do with iGO, but android Settings->Location.

Do not PM me with questions. That's what a forum is for.
i have read many Pages about iGO MayWay;
no User reported 2011 GPS-Problems
check your SYS.txt-Entry:
----------------------------
[gps]
location_net=0
check_gps_timestamp = 1
background_navigation=1
accuracy_workaround=0 ; bei Wert 1 und dann Ausfall von GPS (z.B. Tunnel) wird die App oft ohne Vorwarnung beendet
;send_init=0
;set_messages=0
;sent_init_type=0
check the GPS with a App (GPS-Test.apk)

The gps is turned on before launching the app. Even if it isn't iGO prompts me to turn it on, and when i do it's still stuck on "Looking for gps signal".
I'll do that, and report back results

What device?
Pay attention: you have turned on LOCATION in settings, this does not mean that you turned on physical GPS receiver. Nor it mean that your device has it at all.

my settings for "sys.txt" [gps] section
[gps]
location_net=1
location_gps=1
background_navigation=1
location_log=0
location_log_filename="gpslog/LocationManager"
gps_fix_ignores_num_satellites=1
accept_position_at_precision_change=1
accuracy_workaround=1
min_distance_timestamp=1000
min_valid_heading_speed=0
skip_announce_errors=1
Settings in sys have nothing to do with the activation of a physical receiver.
Wait for his answer.
Reporting back.
GPS Test didn't help, it can't get a gps fix without network assistance.
So it's gotta be the phone that's at fault. Gonna try a few more things like the secret codes for service menu access and get back to you. Thank you for all your help!
The app's Gps Status field says "No Fix". Only when I selected "Use wireless networks" in the android settings that it found 3 satellites, but still couldn't provide a current location in both the GPS Test app and Igo.
